Ski theft and even snow board theft, has become a real problem at some ski resorts. You can’t split a snow board in two, but when going into a lodge, it is a good idea to separate your skis and put them in two different racks especially if you have fairly expensive equipment. When two people ski together, they often share the split, effectively creating two pairs of mismatched skis. You can always pay for security. Ski shops carry several style of cable or clamp locks. Combination systems are far better for skiing than key locks, because you might need a locksmith if you lose your keys in the snow. Some ski area also offer attended ski checks, sometimes complementary, while others offer coin-operated locking systems for skis and snow boards. |  |
